WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's tennis team came out victorious in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match against Suffolk on Wednesday afternoon, 9-0.

The Pride took the first point of the match after Kaitlyn Colby (Merrimac, Mass.) and Lauren Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) combined for an 8-1 victory in third doubles. Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) and Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) also defeated their opponents in number one doubles, as the co-captains took the match, 8-1. Ginger Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) and Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Mass.) finished up the doubles sweep for the Pride with an 8-2 victory.

In singles play, McCormack defeated her opponent in second singles in straight sets (6-0, 6-0), and Lauren Mogelnicki clinched the match for the Pride with a 6-0, 6-3 victory in fourth singles.

Donovan shut out her number one singles opponent in the second set on her way to a 6-1, 6-0 win before Kaeleigh FitzPatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) defeated Alyssa Blade (6-3, 6-0) in fifth singles. After Katelyn Mogelnicki defeated Jordan Miller (6-2, 6-3) in third singles, Colby finished the Pride shutout with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in sixth singles.

Suffolk (1-7, 1-2 GNAC) will be in action on Saturday, Sept. 21 when they take on St. Joseph (Conn.).

Regis (3-1, 2-1 GNAC) will face Colby-Sawyer on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Regis Tennis Center at noon. They will then have a break from conference play when they face Lesley on Tuesday, Sept. 24, before hosting Johnson & Wales on Saturday, Sept. 28 as part of Regis Fest.
