Women’s Tennis Wins Final Home Match

WESTON, Mass. – The Pride faced off against UMass Boston Sunday in their final home match of the 2018-19 season, winning 9-0 in a non-conference women's collegiate tennis match at the Regis Tennis Center. 

The Pride kicked off doubles with a victory when Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) and partner Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) defeated their opponents 8-1 in first doubles.  Oriana Attridge (Westwood, Mass.) and Kaeleigh FitzPatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) took the win against Tuyet Nguyen and Annie Fidelia in second doubles 8-3. Regis led the Beacons 3-0 after the doubles portion of the contest.

Mogelnicki won the first point in singles play (6-0, 6-0) in fourth singles to help give the Pride a 4-0 overall edge. The clinching point of the day came from Ginger Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) who finished fifth singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) won her singles contest 6-3, 6-0, her school-record 51st career singles victory, and Donovan took a 6-2, 6-1 victory over her opponent in first singles. The final match of the day was won by Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) 6-1, 6-0 as the Pride won all seven matches played.

The Pride (12-7) will play Friday, Apr. 12 at Roger Williams at 4 p.m.  They will then conclude their season visiting Gordon Wednesday, Apr. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
