Women’s Tennis Loses Spring Break Finale

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis College women's tennis team lost to Piedmont College, 7-2, Friday night at the USTA National Campus in the team's final match of its Spring Break trip.

Piedmont (4-0) swept the doubles sets, although the contests were close at both number one doubles and number two doubles. In the first position, Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) and Ariana McCormack (Worcester, Mass.) stayed close before finally losing, 8-5, while the team of Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) and Katelyn Mogelnicki (Wethersfield, Conn.) suffered its first loss of the 2018-19 season after nine straight wins, also falling by a score of 8-5.

Jarvis picked up her school-record 49th career victory in the third singles position, rallying from a first-set loss to win the second set in a tiebreaker and then prevailing in the super-tiebreaker, 10-8. Ginger Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) completed a perfect 4-0 week in singles, once again winning on a super-tiebreaker, 13-11, as she collected the Pride's other point in the sixth singles position.

Regis (10-6) returns to campus to resume the spring semester academically, and the team will also resume the spring season on the court in two weeks, hosting Emerson Friday, March 22, starting at 3 p.m. It has been designated as the Senior Day match, with Jarvis to be honored during the afternoon.
