Women's Tennis Closes Season With Road Win At Salve Regina

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - The Regis (Mass.) women's tennis team closed its 2017-18 campaign with a 6-3 win at Salve Regina Friday at the Antone Center Courts. The Pride close the season at 11-6 overall and winners of four of its last five matches.

Doubles play saw Regis exit with a 2-1 lead. Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) and Ariana McCormack (worcester, Mass.) won their one match with Carly Donovan (Harwich, Mass.) and Gracie Jarest (Wrentham, Mass.) dominating the Seahawk pair of Shealyn Fitzpatrick (South Windsor, Conn.) and Lily Gorman (South Yarmouth, Mass.) 8-0.

Singles play featured a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins at the one and three courts. Donovan topped Laura Krick (Groton, Conn.) at the one to go through doubles and singles play without surrendering a game. McCormack handled Darcy Karlin (Brewster, N.Y.) at the two with Jarvis posting another singles sweep in a 6-1, 6-3 No. 2 victory over Erin Stangel (Old Saybrook, Conn.).

Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) and Jarest went the distance in their five and six court matches, respectively. DiPace rallied from a set down for a 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 win but Jarest was not as fortunate in her comeback bid falling 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 10-6.

The match was the season finale for Salve Regina as well who finish at 2-11.
