PRIDE WRAP UP ANOTHER PERFECT NECC REGULAR SEASON

LEICESTER, Mass. – The Regis College women's tennis team clinched the top seed in the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament with a 9-0 sweep of Becker College on Saturday afternoon. The Pride improve to 11-1 overall and 10-0 in the NECC with the win, while Becker drops to 8-8 overall and 7-3 in league matches.

The Crimson and Gold have won 30-straight NECC regular season matches, and 36 matches against NECC opponents dating back to the 2012 season. The Pride will try and capture their fourth-straight NECC Championship next weekend with Regis hosting the Semifinals on Saturday afternoon.

Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) grabbed an 8-2 win over Jennifer Lord and Jacqueline Andrade at No. 1 doubles as a part of a 3-0 sweep of doubles play on the afternoon. Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Katasha Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, with Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) and Sara Kanarkiewicz (Peabody, Mass.) winning at No. 3 doubles by the matching score.

In singles play, Murphy defeated Jennifer Lord, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Jessie Lord defeated Jacqueline Andrade, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Jarvis and Medeiros posted matching 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Emily Rice used a 6-0, 6-1 win over Livia Smith at No. 3 singles, and Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) handed Emily Wodell a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
