PRIDE END SPRING TRIP WITH SETBACK TO JUDSON

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis College women's tennis team wrapped up their Spring Break trip with a 7-2 setback to Judson University on Friday morning.

All three doubles matches were close as the Pride dropped the first two doubles matches, 8-4. At No. 3 doubles, the duo of Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and Sara Kanarkiewicz (Peabody, Mass.) nearly grabbed the first point of the day before falling 8-6.

In singles play, Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) needed a tie-break to grab a 7-5, 7-6 (10-4) win at No. 4 singles. Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) dropped the opening set of her No. 5 singles match, 3-6, but rebounded to win in three sets, 6-4 and 10-3. Amy DiPace (Cambridge, Mass.) won the opening set at No. 6 singles, 6-3, but dropped the second set by a matching score. In the tiebreak, she was just edged, 11-9.

The Crimson and Gold return to action on March 23 when they host Wentworth at 4:30 p.m.
