REGIS CONQUERS KING’S IN ORLANDO

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis College women's tennis team picked up their second win of their spring break trip with a 7-2 victory over King's College (Pa.) on Thursday morning. The Pride improves to 13-2 this season and wrap up the trip Friday morning against Judson.

In doubles play, the duo of Emily Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) and Emily Rice (Pittsfield, Mass.) grabbed an 8-2 win, while Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) and Erica Murphy (Portsmouth, N.H.) suffered an 8-2 setback at the No. 1 spot. Regis was awarded the win at No. 3 singles as the Monarchs did not have enough players.

The Pride were also awarded a point at No. 6 singles. Erica Murphy won her No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 6-3, while Morgenbesser added a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Rice won in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 singles, and Jewel Medeiros (Rochester, Mass.) rounded out the singles wins with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 5 spot.
