BAY PATH POSTS 6-3 WIN OVER PRIDE

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Regis College suffered a 6-3 setback at the hands of Bay Path College in New England Collegiate Conference women's tennis action on Monday afternoon. The Pride drops to 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the NECC while the Wildcats improve to 7-2 and 4-1 in league play. NECC Rookie of the Week Elora Granados (Chillicothe, Texas) improved to 5-1 this season at the number one singles spot with her win today.

Bay Path took an early advantage as the Wildcats grabbed 2-of-the-3 doubles matchups. The Wildcats' Sarah Costa (Tiverton, R.I.) and her sophomore partner Symone Watson (Hamden, Conn.) were able to defeat the tandem of Elora Granados (Chillicothe, Texas) and sophomore Paige Pasley (Dorchester, Mass.) 8-2 in the #1 spot. At number three doubles, the duo of sophomore Teanna Montoya (Edgartown, Mass.) and senior Tara Mullane (Pomfret, Conn.) posted an 8-3 win over the Pride tandem of sophomore Caroline Roche (Hanover, Mass.) and freshman Erika Palmer (Southborough, Mass.).

The last to finish doubles action was the #2 spot where Regis' senior MJ Barron (Whitinsville, Mass.) and freshman Kendall Kolb (Plymouth, Mass.) overtook Bay Path's freshman Stephanie Morin (Springfield, Mass.) and senior Lianna Loveitt (South Dennis, Mass.) 8-5.

Elora Granados picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win over Sarah Costa in number one singles while Kendall Kolb grabbed the Pride's second singles win of the day with her 6-2. 7-5 victory at number six singles. Bay Path's Watson, Morin and Loveitt all posted win in their respective singles matches to seal the 6-3 victory.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow with Bay Path facing Newbury on the road at 3:00 p.m. and Regis hosting Mitchell at 4:30 p.m.
