PRIDE FALL TO SCOTS 0-9

Weston, Mass.--- Regis College women's tennis team fell to Gordon College 0-9 Tuesday (Sept. 7) at the Regis College Athletic Fields. Highlights for the Pride included doubles partners Kunjan Patel (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) and Maryse Emungu (South Burlington, Vt./Rice Memorial) coming back from a 5-0 deficit to lose their pro set 8-3.

In singles matches Mary Jane Barron (Whitinsville, Mass./Holy Name)  had a strong showing, while freshman Teanna Montoya (Oak Bluffs, Mass./Marthas Vineyard Regional) battled Kallie Garrett (Bend, Ore.) over two long sets to lose the match 6-3.

 For Gordon, freshman Katherine Stephens (El Paso, Texas.)  gave a strong performance winning her singles match 6-0 in both sets.  In doubles play for the Scots, senior captain Jessica Greenwood (Bethel, Conn.)  and junior Kallie Garrett played well, winning their respective doubles match 8-0.  With this win Gordon improves to 1-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.  While the Pride  move to  0-3 in the TCCC.

The Pride takes on Anna Maria College Saturday (Sept. 11) this upcoming weekend at the Regis College Athletic Fields.   The Scots next match is scheduled for Thursday (Sept. 9) against Southern Maine.
