McQuaid Earns Second NEISDA Weekly Honor of Season

WESTON, Mass. – Coming off her second event victory of the 2019-20 season to help Regis College win its dual competition over Norwich University last Saturday, senior Elisabeth McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) has been named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Female Diver of the Week, announced Thursday by the coaches' organization.

McQuaid earned Regis' lone overall event victory during its double-dual meet against Norwich and Babson College in Northfield, Vt., winning the five-dive session of one meter diving with a total score of 138.67, over 12 points ahead of her nearest competitor. It is McQuaid's second event victory of the current season, as she finished first in the five-dive event Oct. 26 during the home meet against Bridgewater State and Eastern Connecticut State.

In her exemplary collegiate career, McQuaid has finished first in an individual one-meter diving event 26 times, including the one-meter diving event at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. She qualified for the NCAA Diving Regionals last year and is aiming to repeat as a qualifier this year, with the regional meet set to take place Feb. 28-29 at Springfield College.

The Regis College swimming and diving team will enjoy the familiarity of its home pool in its next three competitions, starting Friday, Nov. 22, against GNAC foe Saint Joseph's College at 6 p.m. The Pride also host the Regis Invitational Sunday, Dec. 8, and then McQuaid will be among the women honored on Senior Day when Regis faces Albertus Magnus Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.
