Elisabeth McQuaid Repeats as NEISDA Diver of Week

WESTON, Mass. – Junior Elisabeth McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) established a new school record in one-meter diving Saturday to earn New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Diver of the Week honors for the second straight week, announced Wednesday by the coaches' association.

Coming off a record-setting performance with 233.70 points the previous week at Bridgewater State, McQuaid completed the six-dive event of one-meter diving this past Saturday at home against Gordon with 238.65 points, almost five full points higher than the previous record. She also completed the five-dive one-meter event earlier in the meet with 173.45 points, improving upon her personal best five-dive mark by almost four full points.

McQuaid has established herself as one of the best divers in New England, winning the GNAC title in one-meter diving for the second straight year and finishing second in three-meter diving at last year's conference championships. At the 2018 New England Swimming and Diving Championships, she finished second in the 11-dive one-meter event.

McQuaid picks up the third NEISDA weekly award for the Regis women's swimming and diving team over the past four weeks. Sarah Leonard (Brockton, Mass.) was named NEISDA Female Swimmer of the Week Oct. 17 after leading the Pride to their first-ever victory over University of New England. With her second weekly honor so far this season, McQuaid has been named NEISDA Diver of the Week nine times during her collegiate career.

The Regis women's swimming and diving team, 3-1 so far in dual meets, returns to the pool Saturday, Nov. 10, for a tri-meet at Babson against the host Beavers and Norwich starting at 1 p.m.
