PRIDE SWEPT IN DUAL MEET

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's swimming & diving team lost to Simmons College, 194-66, and Colby-Sawyer College, 129-123, this afternoon in a double-dual meet in Weston, Mass.

Simmons won eight of 12 individual events and both relays, while also sweeping the top three spots in five events and improves to 9-1 on the season. Colby-Sawyer stands at 3-3 and Regis falls to 3-5.

Sophomore Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) led Regis with a pair of first place finishes with the meet's best time in both events. She won the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.85, before taking the 100-backstroke in 1:03.97 to finish the day unbeaten in individual events.

Senior Lucia Llorente Ruiz (Newton, Mass.) also won two events vs. Colby-Sawyer for Regis. Her time of 35.81 in the 50-yard breaststroke was the best of the day among all swimmers, while her mark of 1:18.95 topped Colby-Sawyer in the 100-yard breaststroke, while placing her second vs. Simmons.

Senior Amanda Iandoli (Mansfield, Mass.) placed first vs. Colby-Sawyer for Regis with a time of 1:17.90, while first year Katherine Mariano (Newton, Mass.) was Regis' top finisher over Colby-Sawyer in the 200-yard freestyle after hitting the wall at 2:16.34. Iandoli also added a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly – both vs. Colby-Sawyer. Mariano was third in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events vs. Colby-Sawyer. Sophomore Ashlyn Deroche (North Reading, Mass.) registered a first-place effort in the 50-yard freestyle for Regis vs. Colby-Sawyer on a time of 28.32.
