Regis Women’s Soccer Trio Receives All-GNAC Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – With the Regis College women's soccer team exceeding the league's preseason expectations, three members of this year's squad have been voted All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) by the conference coaches, with the voting results announced Monday by the league office.

Kaylee Francis (Millis, Mass.) received Second Team All-GNAC honors after a standout freshman season that included 11 goals and five assists for 27 total points, one goal and one point away from the Regis single-season record in both categories. A two-time GNAC Rookie of the Week, Francis finished with eight goals and four assists in conference play, including the game-winning goal at St. Joseph Sept. 15 as well as two goals and one assist against Norwich Oct. 10.

Junior midfielder Rachel Kelly (Whitman, Mass.) continued her stellar career with six goals and three assists for 15 total points during the 2018 season, earning Third Team All-GNAC recognition. All but one of her goals came during GNAC competition, featuring game-winning tallies at Suffolk Sept. 8 and against Albertus Magnus Oct. 3 as well as a two-goal performance against Norwich Oct. 10.

Establishing herself as the team's starting goalkeeper in the fifth match of the year, freshman Oriana Attridge (Westwood, Mass.) received Third Team All-GNAC honors after collecting six wins with a 1.57 goals against average and an .818 save percentage with 81 total saves. She made 10 saves in the Pride's 3-2 comeback victory at Colby-Sawyer Sept. 22 as well as 16 saves against GNAC regular season champion Lasell Oct. 13 to keep Regis in that match.

Regis is represented on the GNAC Women's Soccer All-Sportsmanship Team by junior midfielder Erin Filetti (Newburyport, Mass.), chosen for her dedication to fair play within competition throughout the season. Filetti appeared in 14 matches, including six starts, picking up an assist during the season-opening 3-2 victory at Maine-Farmington Sept. 1.

Regis, picked 10th in the preseason GNAC coaches' poll, finished in a tie for fifth place in the final regular season standings with a 7-5 league mark, matching the 2014 team for most conference wins in one year. Overall, the Pride ended up 10-7, the fifth 10+ win season in program history, all within the last seven years.
