Women's Soccer Falls 3-1 to Lasell

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon to visiting Lasell College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Regis Stadium.

With the loss, the Pride falls to 2-5-1 on the season, while Lasell moves to 5-4.

Both the Lasers and Pride were unable to connect on scoring chances in the first half, Lasell outshot Regis 31-5 in the conference victory, and were unable to connect on 16 shots in the first half.

The Lasers took control early in the second half, as Erika Badger (Scituate, Mass.)  headed in a corner in the 47th minute. Six minutes later, junior Morgan Pinksten (Pelham, N.H.) put the Lasers up 2-0, scoring from far outside the box off a feed from senior Carly Zdanek (Newton, N.J.).

Sophomore Caitlin Rotonnelli (Meredith, N.H.) sealed the Lasers victory in the 77th minute, finishing a corner from Casey Meissner (Sandwich, Mass.).

Regis's Payton Fitzgerald (Danielson, Conn.)  scored the lone Pride goal in the final minute of play, cutting the Lasers lead to 3-1.

Kyrsten Drake (Loganville, GA.) had season-high 14 saves in net for the Pride. Sarah LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) recorded one save in 90 minutes of play.

Lasell and Regis return to GNAC action on Wednesday October 4. The Lasers will host Emmanuel (Mass.) at 4:00pm, while the Pride will host Johnson & Wales at 6:30PM.
