WESTON, Mass. – Regis College used 11 first half goals to fuel a 15-5 win over visiting Wheelock College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's lacrosse action on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Regis Stadium. Junior Teresa Busiek (Arlington, Mass.) had three goals, one assist, 11 ground balls, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers to help the Pride improve to 3-0 in league play and 9-3 overall.

The Wildcats (2-5, 1-1 NECC) were paced by midfielder Molly Centore's (Kennebunk, Maine) four goals, four draw controls, and four ground balls.

Grace Politis (Billerica, Mass.) got the offense started for the Pride at the 23:33 mark, scoring the game's first goal and sparking a 10-0 run by the Pride over an 18 minute span. Politis weaved through the Wildcat defense for the opening goal.

Sophomore Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.) made it a 2-0 lead less than one minute later after countering on a successful clear by the Pride. Busiek extended the lead to four goals after netting back-to-back unassisted tallies, while Lindsey Graver (Bellingham, Mass.) made it 5-0 after scooping up a ground ball off of a rebound and taking a quick shot that beat Meghan Lewis (South Berwick, Maine).

After nearly seven scoreless minutes, the Crimson & Gold once again turned on the offense and poured in five more goals in less than a four minute span. Abbie Wehr (Suwanee, Ga.) and Salamone accounted for two goals apiece, while Politis capitalized on a nice outside feed from Graver after firing the ball top shelf.

Centore would strike for her first goal of the game at the 3:33 mark after freshman Haley Lary (Randolph, Vt.) found Centore cutting in front of the Regis net. The Pride extended their lead back to ten after Busiek made the most of a free position shot with 12 seconds to play in the half.

Regis tacked on three more goals, courtesy of Salamone, Becka Sarson (York, Maine), and Graver, to push the score to 14-1 by the 20:57 mark of the second half. Graver fed Sarson for her first goal of the season before Stacy Burns (Waltham, Mass.) made a pass to Graver for her second goal of the game.

Burns scored a goal of her own at the 8:23 mark, with an assist coming from Sierra Luce (Hartford, Vt.), but not before Centore added a free position goal for her second of the day.

The Wildcats closed out the game on a 3-0 run to make it a 15-5 final. Centore scored her third and fourth goals of the game, while Emma Mars (Old Lyme, Conn.) also fired a shot past Emma Decker (Southborough, Mass.) after cutting in and receiving a nice feed from Valerie Ferrante (Milford, Mass.).

Lewis made 18 stops in net for the Wildcats, who were also paced by junior Katie Gavin's (Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.) five draw controls, seven ground balls, and one caused turnover.

Regis returns to action on Monday with a 7 p.m. non-league game to be played at Wentworth. Wheelock will host NECC foe Becker at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
