SALAMONE GRABS EIGHTH NECC WEEKLY HONOR

WESTON, Mass. – For the eighth time this season, freshman Sam Salamone (Milford, Mass.) of the Regis College women's lacrosse team has been named the Rookie of the Week for the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), as it was announced by the league on Monday.

Salamone scored seven goals, scooped up one ground ball, won nine draw controls, and forced one caused turnover to lead the Pride to a 16-7 win over Becker in their lone game of the week. The win helped the Pride finish regular season NECC play undefeated and lock up the number one seed in the upcoming NECC Championship.

Through 17 games this season, Salamone leads the league in points (102), goals (80), assists (22), ground balls (91), and draw controls (116).

Salamone and the Pride (11-6, 5-0 NECC) will be back in action on Wednesday, May 1 when they host Elms College in the NECC Semifinals at 5:00 p.m.
