Weston, Mass.—The Regis College
women’s lacrosse team is set to take on Emmanuel College
Thursday (Mar. 17) at 6:00 p.m. The Pride enters the contest with a
record of 0-1 after losing a close game to Becker College earlier
this week. This will be the first contest of the season for the
visiting Saints who look to open the season against the Pride.
The Pride is led by on offense by junior Teresa Crevier
(Milford, Mass./Montrose) who brings crucial in game experience and
leadership to the squad. Freshman Teresa Busiek (Arlington,
Mass./Arlington Catholic) is the Pride’s leading scorer after
tallying five goals against Becker College. Busiek will look to add
to her scoring total against the Saints. Franli Bencosme (Lawrence,
Mass./Essex Agricultural and Tech) is a secondary scoring threat
that will help the Pride score when in front of the net.
The Pride’s defense is led by junior Evonne Orozco
(Waltham, Mass./Waltham). Orozco returns as a strong defensive
presence and will look to help in the ground ball game. Kristin
Amicangioli (Belmont, Mass./Arlington Catholic) will also
contribute in securing the Pride’s backfield. Meghan Ryan
(Stow, Mass./Iona College) will look to add to her saves on the
season by securing the cage for the Pride.
The Saints return leading scorer Megan Ciary (Woonsocket,
R.I./Mount Saint Charles Academy) who will look to score from the
midfield position. Senior Kristina Marik (Bardonia, N.Y./Albertus
Magnus High School) will also look to help the Saints offense with
her quick off ball movement.
The Saints will be led by Megan Harrington (Leicester,
Mass/Leicester High School) who returns as a defensive leader in
ground balls for the squad. The Saints have two freshman
goaltenders Hilary Duffy (Lynn, Mass./St. Mary's High School) and
Hilary Dandurant (Merrimac, Mass./Pentucket Regional High School)
that will split time in net.
This will be the first home game for the Pride with game time
set to start at 6:00 p.m.
