Regis Women’s Basketball Tribute Ceremony Set for November 23

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College athletics department welcomes all supporters back to campus this Saturday, Nov. 23, for a basketball doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at Higgins Court, featuring the Women's Basketball Tribute Ceremony at halftime of the 3 p.m. women's basketball game.

During the halftime ceremony, new banners signifying the retired numbers of Julie Rando Ranucci '94 and Jen Erickson Baker '95 will be unveiled. Both former players are Regis Hall of Famers and will be in attendance, along with family and friends, to see their retired numbers return to their rightful place in the rafters.

Ranucci (#12), the recipient of the 1994 Mother Regis Award, was part of three conference championships in four years as her teams posted an overall record of 73-28 (.723). She is third on the Regis all-time scoring list with 1,632 points, averaging a school-record 20.24 points per game during the 1992-93 season. Ranucci also holds the two highest single-season steal marks in program history with 132 steals in 1992-93 and 123 steals in 1993-94.

Baker (#21) helped her teams to an overall mark of 77-26 (.748) as she scored 1,108 career points, 11th on the Regis all-time scoring list. She is also third on the career assists list with 341 and second on the career steals list with 276. Baker continues to hold the school records for most assists per game in a single season (4.59 apg in 1994-95) and most steals in a single game (13 vs. Wentworth Feb. 6, 1993).

The tribute ceremony will take place at halftime of the women's basketball game against WPI, with the men's basketball game against Curry preceding the women's contest. A reception will take place before the ceremony for the honorees and guests.
