BRADLEY’S STRONG SHOOTING PERFORMANCE LEADS PRIDE TO CONFERENCE WIN
Senior guard Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) led the Pride with 29 points on 11-of-15 (73.3%) shooting including an efficient 7-of-9 (77.8%) from three-point land as the Regis College Women’s Basketball team earned a victory against Bay Path University 94-44 in New England Collegiate Conference action on Thursday evening. With the win, the Crimson and Gold improve to 14-5, 12-0 NECC on the year and with the loss the Wildcats fall to 2-13, 2-9 NECC.

WESTON, Mass. – Senior guard Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) led the Pride with 29 points on 11-of-15 (73.3%) shooting including an efficient 7-of-9 (77.8%) from three-point land as the Regis College Women's Basketball team earned a victory against Bay Path University 94-44 in New England Collegiate Conference action on Thursday evening. With the win, the Crimson and Gold improve to 14-5, 12-0 NECC on the year and with the loss the Wildcats fall to 2-13, 2-9 NECC.
Bradley also collected six rebounds, dished out three assists, made two steals and swatted away a shot during the contest. Joining Bradley in double figures were teammates Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H) who chipped in with 18 points, handed out six assists while grabbing three rebounds and Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) who scored 16 points and snagged five rebounds. As a team, the Pride scored 39 points from downtown.
Regis started the game hot by opening up the contest on a mini 5-0 run when Hawkesworth opened up the scoring with a layup from under the hoop. Emilee Marro then drilled a shot from beyond the arc before Bay Path could score a bucket. After Hawkesworth missed a layup, Aalyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) scooped up the miss and drove the ball down the court. The Wildcats passed the rock around until they found Gordon again who converted a jumper to opening the scoring for Bay Path.
Both teams traded points before the Crimson and Gold opened up the game with a 21-0 run over the next five minutes of action before Frankie Wauneka (Easthampton, Mass.) made a layup to end the Regis run. Janaya Bradley and Emilee Marro scored seven points during the run while Amanda Hawkesworth scored four from the charity stripe and Mikayla Murphy (Attleboro, Mass.) ended the scoring with her only three-point conversion of the duel to put the Pride up 29-4 with 12:30 left in the first half.
Regis never looked back kept up the scoring with a mini run of 12-4 and outscoring the Wildcats 11-7 over the last three minutes of the half. The Pride kept up the pressure during the second half to put the game away just under 10 minutes to go with a lengthy 12-1 scoring run.
The Wildcats were led by sophomore forward Frankie Wauneka recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds while junior guard Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.) contributed with 17 points. Coming off the bench for Regis was junior guard Alyssa Lanpher (Princeton, Mass.) who scored seven points and secured four rebounds. Junior forward Michaela Maguire (Revere, Mass.) led the squad with seven rebounds and four steals while scoring four points.
Regis looks to continue their conference winning streak when they travel to Newbury on Saturday afternoon for a noon tip-off while Bay Path looks to rebound when they head off Daniel Webster on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. start time.
