REGIS FALLS TO GROVE CITY, OHIO NORTHERN

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Regis College softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games on Tuesday at the Dot Richardson Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. The Pride (0-4) opened up the day with a 4-1 setback to Grove City before falling to Ohio Northern, 10-0 in five innings.

Regis was led by Sam Bliss (Framingham, Mass.) in the opening game, as she registered two hits and scored the team's lone run. Alyssa McKinnon (Raynham, Mass.) also added a run for the Pride.

Katie Cuozzo (Lynn, Mass.) pitched the full seven innings for Regis and gave up four runs, three of which were earned. Cuozzo also struck out one batter in the losing effort.

The Crimson & Gold were limited offensively in their second game of the day, thanks to Ohio Northern's Paige Ordean (Fort Loramie, Ohio), who pitched a no-hitter for the Polar Bears.

Bliss and Cuozzo split pitching duties for Regis, allowing a combined ten runs, seven of which were earned, off of ten hits. Cuozzo struck out one in the process.

After a day-off tomorrow, the Pride will return to play Methodist and Widener at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, on Thursday.
