Weston, Mass.—The Regis College softball team is set to take on Eastern Nazarene College Wednesday (Mar. 23). The Pride enters the contest with a record of 0-10, while the visiting Lions enter the contest with a record of 2-8.
The Pride is led by four seniors Rachel Cavella (West Roxbury,
Mass./Fontbonne Academy), Hope Benjamin (Rochester, Mass./Old
Rochester Regional), Amanda Carlson (Ayer, Mass./Ayer), and Shannon
Hurley (Billerica, Mass./Arlington Catholic).
Benjamin leads the team on offense with one homerun and three
runs batted in. Cavella is a defensive leader for the Pride
tallying a team high fielding percentage of .943. Sarah Porteus
(South Wellfleet, Mass./Nauset) leads the Pride in pitching with 14
strikeouts on the season and an ERA of 7.57.
The Pride will look to play for its first win of the season in
The Commonwealth Coast Conference. The match-up will be a
double-header with the first game starting at 3:00 p.m. and the
second game set to start at 5:00 p.m.
