Regis Cross Country Concludes Regular Season at Suffolk Invite

BOSTON – The Regis College cross country team concluded the 2019 regular season by competing in the Suffolk Invitational Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.

In the women's five-kilometer race, Maddie Boucias (Buckland, Mass.) was the first Pride runner to complete the event, crossing the finish line in 33rd place with a time of 21:00.4. Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) was right behind Boucias in 34th place in 21:03.6, while Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) ended up in 82nd place with a time of 22:28.8.

Christian Hendricks (Edgewater, Md.) led the Regis men, finishing in 108th place with a time of 30:01.8 over the eight-kilometer course. AJ Corso (Broad Brook, Conn.) ended up in 129th place in 30:57.0, followed by Noah Ryan (Stockton, Calif.) in 145th place with a time of 31:51.6. Nicholas Sahagian (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) posted a time of 32:43.5, and Michael Carroll (Lynn, Mass.) finished the event in 33:04.8.

As a team, the Regis men finished in 19th place with 557 points, while the women did not post a team score. Southern Maine won the men's team competition, and Smith College cruised to the team title for the women.

Regis will have two weeks to prepare for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine, Saturday, Nov. 2.
