As a Freshman (2017):
Competed in three races for the Pride before going down with a season-ending injury...ran his strongest race of the season at the Codfish Bowl, running an 8k time of 32:04 on Sept. 23

Prep:
Matt ran four years of varsity indoor track, three years of varsity cross country and two years of varsity outdoor track for Scituate High School in Scituate, R.I.

Personal:
Matt was born in Scituate, R.I...majoring in criminal justice...the son of Brian and Donna Sowden
