SUFFOLK, Mass. - Drew Beimel (Redondo Beach, Calif.) had a team-high 11 kills, Joe Hanrahan (Coventry, R.I.) added a match-best 12 digs and the Regis (Mass.) men's volleyball team topped Emerson in three sets (25-20, 25-12, 20-25, 25-23) Thursday night in non-conference action at Suffolk University's Regan Gymnasium.
Sophomore Win Kittivatcharapong (Bangkok, Thailand) paced Emerson with 14 kills, while sophomore Mark Piorkowski (Montclair, N.J.) followed with 13 swings.
Freshman Diego Garcia (Honolulu, Hi.) registered a team-best three aces and co-led with sophomore Jacob DiTore (Salem, N.H.) with nine digs apiece.
Freshman John Bucy (McLean, Va.) recorded a team-high three blocks.
Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) recorded a team-best three aces and four blocks.
SET ONE
The score flip flopped through the opening frame and neither Emerson nor Regis led by more than a one point margin.
Emerson broke the 12-all tie to pull ahead by its biggest lead of three at 15-12 before Regis squared the score again at 15-all on an ace by Jon Fuentes.
After a Sean Bisnett kill put the score at 17-all, the Pride strung together the next four points to grab the 21-17 lead.
Emerson answered with the set's next three points to bring the Lions back within one at 21-20 on an ace from Garcia.
Regis capped off the 25-20 opening set win after they embarked on a 4-0 run that was capped off by a Lions attack error.
SET TWO
After Regis jumped out to the 5-0 lead, the Pride began to distance themselves away from Emerson and gained the 10-point advantage on three occasions.
Emerson earned three points back thanks to a kill and a pair of aces from Kittavatcharapong and cut the margin to eight at 15-7.
Regis capped off a 5-0 push on a swing from Hanrahan to balloon their lead to 20-7 and never allowed Emerson to come within more than 12 through the remainder of the set to take the 25-12 win.
SET THREE
Much like the first set, the score remained neck-and-neck as both teams never led by more than two.
After a service error committed by Emerson allowed Regis to square the score 17-all, the Lions took the next three points to earn its biggest lead of the set at 20-17.
Regis pulled back within one two more times before a pair of swings from Kittivatcharapong pushed Emerson back in front by three at 23-20.
The Lions closed the book on the third set on a kills by Bucy and Garcia to earn the 25-20 comeback win.
SET FOUR
With the score squared at 9-all, Regis embarked on a 5-0 push to put them ahead five points at 14-9.
A trio of attack errors by Regis allowed Emerson to close the gap to three at 17-15.
The Pride held its four point advantage over the Lions at 20-16 before a Regis attack error squared the score at 20-all.
Emerson trailed by no more than two through the closing portions of the fourth frame before a service error gave Regis the 25-23 win.

Emerson heads off to Dean College on Saturday, February 25 for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
Regis returns home after a five-match road schedule to play host to Lesley in a rescheduled match on Monday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m.
