Bright Performances Highlight Pride Effort at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Regis College men's track and field team competed at the Wesleyan Spring Classic Saturday. 

The throwing events saw Frank Pelleteri finish in the top five in both events he participated in, placing fourth in the shot put with a throw of 12.10 meters and fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 25.27 meters. Daniel LaFlamme would finish with a distance of 34.74 meters in the hammer throw to finish sixth, plus he placed fifth in the discus with a 35.06-meter throw.

Nicholas Pastore, in the 400 meter run, would finish with a time of 54.76 meters placing fourth in the event. Christian Hendricks would post a time of 56.21 seconds, placing sixth.

Jovan Sematimba completed the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:30.97, finishing in eighth.  Sean Toomey finished right behind him in ninth with a time of 4:37.49, while JJ Pedersen would finish 10th with a time of 4:41.97. 

Matthew Malone finished the 110 meter hurdles in second place with a time of 16.64 seconds.

The track and field team will continue the outdoor season when they compete at Tufts next Saturday, Mar. 30.
