Men’s Track and Field Finish Final Meet Before New England Regionals

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Regis College men's track and field program traveled to Maine Saturday for the Bowdoin Invitational IV hosted by Bowdoin College.

The day saw JJ Pedersen (Milford, Conn.) break his personal record in the 800 meter run as he posted a time of 2:06.93. Another personal record would be broken with Nazih Lewis (Trenton, N.J.) recording a time of 25.39.

The mile run would see two Pride runners finish in the top half of the field with Jovan Sematimba (Burlington, Mass.) finishing in a time of 4:48.83 in sixth and Sean Toomey (Salem, N.H.) in seventh with a time of 4:55.67. Gustavo Novelle-Ruddy (Boston, Mass.) would also break a personal record in the event with a time of 5:11.35.

The throwing events would see Frank Pelleteri (Freeport, Maine) throw for 12.91 meters in the shot put placing third and Daniel LaFlamme (Watertown, Conn.) would throw for 12.74 meters placing fourth.  Cole Anderson (Falmouth, Maine) would round out the top 15 with a distance of 10.51 meters. 

The weight throw would see Anderson lead the Pride placing fourth with a throw of 13.59 meters with Pelleteri placing in eighth with a personal record of 13.27 meters and LaFlamme with a throw of 13.20 meters.

The Pride will see participants in the New England Championships next weekend in Cambridge, Mass. at MIT.
