Two School Records Fall at New England Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Kate Cowden (Wilmington, Mass.) and junior Fatima St. Hilaire (Danvers, Mass.) both set school records on Friday in the first day of the NCAA Division III New England Championships.

Cowden finished fourth in the women's discus on the afternoon, with a school record throw of 39.00 meters. St. Hilaire was the second place finisher in the women's long jump, setting a school record of her own with a jump of 5.85 meters. Sophomore Elisabeth Cooke (East Longmeadow, Mass.) also competed in the discus throw Friday, finishing in 16th place with a throw of 33.76 meters.

Also competing on Friday for the Pride was junior Matthew Malone (West Roxbury, Mass.), who placed 13th in the men's 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.56.

A bevy of Pride student-athletes will compete Saturday in the final day of the New England Championships, starting with the women's shot put at 10:00 a.m.
