Strong Performances Highlight Track & Field At Stampede Invite

MEDFORD, Mass. - Matt Malone (West Roxbury, Mass.) placed third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.83) and Bernice Boateng (Danielson, Conn.) broke her own school record in the 60 meter dash (8.29) to highlight a strong showing by the Regis (Mass.) men's and women's track & field teams at the Tufts Stampede Invitational held Saturday at the Gantcher Center.

The women's competition also saw Abbie Cooke (Abington, Mass.) put up a pair of personal best times. She ran the 200-meter dash in a finals time of 31.82 and posted an 11.25 second time in the 60-meter hurdles.

Elliana Boebel (Bedford, Mass.) set a personal best in the weight throw by more than a meter with a throw of 10.96 meters and Maddie Boucias (Buckland, Mass.) rounded out the strong outing by finishing with a 2:34.37 in her collegiate 800 meter debut.

The Pride men's team showcased several strong performances of its own in addition to Malone's bronze finish. Nick Sahagian (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) ran a personal best time of 9:43.04 in the 3,000 meter run and Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) finished 11th overall in the 600-meter dash with a time of 1:26.87.

The Pride return to competition Feb. 10 & 11 taking part in both the David Hemery Invitational and Gordon Kelley Invitational.
