John Ciarleglio, III, USPTA, PTR, began as the volunteer assistant coach for Regis tennis after retiring as the head coach in June 2018. He was the first men’s tennis coach beginning in May of 2008 and then in May 2010 became the head coach for both the Regis men’s and women’s tennis programs. Coach Ciarleglio began playing tennis at age 29, learning by taking private lessons, participating in weekly clinics and other tennis training opportunities.

His competitive experience included playing primarily doubles for several men’s teams in the CMITA and USTA leagues. He is an active member of the United States Professional Tennis Association, regularly attending conferences. He was named the 2017 and 2012 USPTA New England College Coach of the Year He is also a member of the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). He worked as a tennis pro at the Longfellow Club in Wayland, MA for 8 years ending in 2011, working with all ages, genders and skill levels of players.

In his tenure as the Regis head coach, both the men’s and women’s teams won five consecutive NECC (New England Collegiate Conference) championships. In the teams’ first year in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Regis women made it to the semi-finals, while the Regis men played in the conference final.

Coach Ciarleglio received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Investments from the University of Connecticut.
