Men’s Tennis Drops Fall Finale

COLCHESTER, Vt. – Regis College lost to Saint Michael's College, 7-0, Friday afternoon in a non-conference men's collegiate tennis dual match at the Tarrant Recreation Center.

Playing under Northeast-10 rules, the doubles sets ended when one team won six games and were counted collectively as just one point in the team score. Saint Michael's picked up the doubles point by sweeping the matches, with Evan Russell (East Wareham, Mass.) and Josh Nolen (Fairfax, Va.) providing the most competitive contest for Regis before falling at number two doubles, 6-4.

Saint Michael's (2-0) won all six singles matches in straight sets, losing a total of 12 games in the process. Michael Rosen clinched the team competition for the Purple Knights when he completed his victory at number two singles.

Regis (0-4) is scheduled to begin competition again during its annual Spring Break trip to Florida in the first week of March. The Pride will welcome back Johnny Pallotta (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Owen Pelissier (Hingham, Mass.), and Mitchell Weiner (Plano, Texas), as they return to campus after spending the fall semester in a Study Abroad program.
