ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis College men's tennis team lost to Piedmont College, 8-1, Friday night at the USTA National Campus in the team's final match of its Spring Break trip.

Piedmont (5-1) won all three doubles sets, although the Pride were competitive in all three contests. The Lions clinched the overall team match with straight-set victories at number six singles and number one singles.

The Pride's only point came in the number three singles position as Johnny Pallotta (Bay Shore, N.Y.) earned a straight-set victory. In the number four singles position, Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) won the first set in a tiebreaker, but Piedmont's Houston Medlock rallied by winning the second set and the super-tiebreaker.

Regis (6-5) returns to campus to resume the spring semester academically, and the team will also resume the spring season on the court next week, traveling to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I., to face Roger Williams starting at 3 p.m.
