Pallotta Named GNAC Player and Rookie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - Fresh off a Great Northeast Athletic Conference Semifinal sweep, Regis (Mass.) men's tennis freshman Johnny Pallotta (Bay Shore, N.Y.) has been named the GNAC Player and Rookie of the Week. The announcement came from the conference office on Monday morning.

Pallotta picked up a pair of No. 5 singles wins on the week, including the match-clincher against JWU in the semifinals of the GNAC Tournament on Saturday. He also earned two victories in doubles play with No. 2 doubles partner Nolan Bebarta (Danville, Calif.).

Pallotta is the second Pride men's tennis player to claim GNAC Rookie of the Week honors this season, joining freshman Tim Miller (North Attleboro, Mass.), and fourth player to be named Player of the Week, joining Miller, senior Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.), and junior Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine).

The Pride will travel to Ramapo for the GNAC Championship on Saturday afternoon, with match time still to be announced.
