PREVIEW: Men’s Tennis Enters GNAC Tourney As North’s Top Seed

WINTHROP, Mass. – With an undefeated run through the league season, the Regis (Mass.) men’s tennis team earned the top seed in the North Division ahead of the 2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament which gets underway this Saturday.

The Pride (13-5) finished the GNAC season at 3-0 and will host No. 2 Johnson & Wales (RI) on Saturday, Apr. 28 at the Regis Tennis Center. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.

Looming on the other side of the bracket is five-time defending champion and South Division top seed Ramapo College who will square off against the University of Rutgers-Newark Saturday in the other semifinal. The winners of both matches will play Saturday, May 5 for the GNAC Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

The championship host alternates by division annually, and this year the Ramapo/Rutgers-Newark winner will host the GNAC title match.

Regis and JWU played their lone match less than a week ago with the Pride turning back the Wildcats 6-3. JWU earned the No. 2 seed after wins against Norwich and Suffolk to finish 2-1 in league play.
