WINCHESTER, Mass. – The Regis (Mass.) men's tennis team improved to a perfect 2-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play with another convincing win, this time a 7-2 victory over Suffolk Saturday night at the Winchester Tennis Courts.

Doubles play saw all three matches go to the Pride who improved to 11-4 overall. The most convincing win came on the No. 3 court where the Regis tandem of Mitchell Weiner (Plano, Texas) and Tim Miller (North Attleboro, Mass.) blanked Chris Parnagian and Kevin Greenman, 8-0.

The Pride clinched the match early with Kyle Dugat (Houston, Texas) and Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) taking care of their singles opponents in straight sets for the fourth and fifth points. Arieil Ilarslan Russo got the first Ram point, defeating Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) at the one which was followed by the most entertaining Regis win of the evening. On the No. 6 court, Evan Russell (East Wareham, Mass.) rallied to beat Rami Esrawi 4-6, 6-3, 10-4. Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) lost at the three 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 with the match closing with Owen Pelissier (Hingham, Mass.) sweeping Parnagian in two tie-break sets, 7-6, 7-6.

Regis returns to action Tuesday, Apr. 17 with a continuation of a match against St. Anselm at the Regis Tennis Center originally started this past September but interrupted due to weather. The match will restart with singles and St. Anselm leading 2-1.
