Regis Swim & Dive Earns CSCAA Academic Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Thanks to continued excellence in the classroom, both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams at Regis College have been named Scholar All-America teams for the Spring 2019 semester, announced by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association earlier this week.

The men's team posted a 3.08 grade point average this past spring to become one of 134 Division III men's swimming and diving squads to be recognized. Meanwhile, the women's team finished the spring with a 3.40 grade point average, one of 185 women's squads to receive Scholar All-America honors in the most recent semester.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America – is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.

CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart noted: "Coach (James) Sweeney has humbly built a program Regis College can be proud of - in the pool, the classroom, and as alumni."

Several members of the Regis College swimming and diving teams add CSCAA Scholar All-America Team status to their sparkling academic records, as 12 Pride swimmers earned GNAC All-Academic recognition for 2018-19 and 13 student-athletes on the two teams received NEISDA All-Academic honors for the Spring 2019 semester.
