Men’s Swimming Takes Home Victory

STANDISH, Maine - The Regis College men's swimming team took home a 150-63 win over the Monks of Saint Joseph's College early Saturday afternoon. 

The meet started with the 200 medley relay team of Regis taking home a victory. It was followed by Grant Kollien (Acton, Mass.) and Brendan Pike (Weymouth, Mass.) taking home the top two spots in the 1000 freestyle with times of 11:09.15 and 11:16.45 respectively. 

More points would be earned by Kevin Dugue (Roslindale, Mass.) and Paul Brennan (Rumford, R.I.), as they placed first and second in the 50 backstroke. This would be followed by a winning performance by GianCarlos Banrey (Roslindale, Mass.) in the 100 butterfly which put him just 1.16 seconds off his personal record this season. 

Banrey, Dugue, and Kollien would finish the day with three event wins apiece. Joshua Unas (Santa Clarita, Calif.) won the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke, plus he posted the best time in the 100 individual medley. 

The Pride, now 3-3 in dual meets, will next compete at the Regis Invitational at the Regis Aquatic Center Saturday, Dec. 1, with sessions starting at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
