Swimming Lands 12 On NEISDA Spring All-Academic Team

Full Academic Team

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis (Mass.) men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams had 12 competitors named to the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association All-Academic Team, recently announced by NEISDA.

Mike Bruno, Grant Kollien, Connor Schwarze and Ryan Tinney earned the honor from the men’s side with Meghan Caggiano, Amy Collins, Mary Constantino, Kasey Gagnon, Jessica Higgins, Sarah Leonard, Lila Williams and Katherine Mariano named to the women’s team. It was Williams and Mariano’s second NEISDA all-academic selection.

In order for a swimmer or diver to make the NEISDA All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must have completed a minimum of three semesters, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better and be a team member in good standing for the complete season. 180 total athletes were selected to the team.

The academic success is a culmination of another impressive season by the Pride. At the GNAC Championships in December, both the men’s and women’s teams placed second and, for his efforts, head coach James Sweeney was named the GNAC Men’s Swimming Coach of the Year. In addition, 10 athletes on both the men’s and women’s side posted New England qualifying scores during the season.
