Swimming & Diving Lands 13 NEISDA All-Academic Selections

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Regis (Mass.) men's and women's swimming & diving teams had 13 competitors named to the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association Fall All-Academic Team, recently announced by NEISDA. The number was more than double the combined five selections the Pride had last season.

Caoilinn Bassignani, Mary Constantino, Ashlyn DeRoche, Kasey Gagnon, Jessica Higgins, Sarah Leonard, Katherine Mariano, Ryan Moran and Lila Williams were selected to the women’s team with Michael Bruno, Grant Kollien, Connor Schwarze and Josh Unas earning spots on the men’s team.

In order for a swimmer or diver to make the NEISDA All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must have completed a minimum of three semesters, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better and be a team member in good standing for the complete season.

The academic success is a culmination of a historic 2017-18 season by the Pride. James Sweeney was named GNAC Coach of the Year with Nick Rainville earning league athlete of the year honors. The season closed with Rainville winning a pair of events at the NEISDA Championships, and Sarah Leonard winning the 100 fly and 100 free and Elisabeth McQuaid the 1-meter dive for the women.
