Swimming & Diving Close Out Win Over Monks On Day 2

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) men's and women's swimming & diving teams picked up where they left off, closing out solid wins on the second and final day of their dual matches with St. Joseph's (Me.) Saturday at Regis Pool.

The Regis men's team topped the Monks 221-123 with the women winning 253-128.

Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.) and Josh Unas (Santa Clarita, Calif.) headlined the men's Day 2 effort with a trio of first place finishes. Both won the 50 and 200 butterfly and breastroke events, respectively, then teamed up with Connor Schwarze (Melrose, Mass.) and Lawrence Reynolds (Hyde Park, Mass.) to win the 400 medley relay (4:01.55).

Reynolds also added a win in the 100 free (53.51) with Paul Brennan (Rumford, R.I.) taking top honors in the 50 (30.41) and 200 backstroke (2:21.58) events. Grant Kollien (Acton, Mass.) added a first-place finish in the 1650 free (18:45.34).

Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) once again paced the Pride effort for the women. She won the 50 (29.50) and 200 (2:18.61) backstroke races then took top honors in the 50 butterfly (28.04).

Jessica Zernitsky (Newton, Mass.) won the 100 free (59.60) and 50 breastroke (36.10) with Gloria Sutton (Suffield, Conn.) placing first in 1650 free (19:52.74) and Katherine Mariano (Newton, Mass.) doing the same in the 200 butterfly (2:44.87). Zernitsky and Mariano also teamed up with Sarah Leonard (Brockton, Mass.) and Ashlyn DeRoche (North Reading, Mass.) to win the 200 medley relay (2:03.79)

Next up for both squads is the GNAC Championships hosted by Simmons College on Dec. 2nd and 3rd.
