PRIDE SPLITS DUAL MEET WITH UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Regis College men's and women's swimming and diving teams split a dual meet with the University of New England on Saturday afternoon in Biddeford, Maine. The men's team improved to 2-0 with a 125-88 victory over the Nor'easters while the women's team dropped to 0-2 in a 143-94 setback to UNE.

On the women's side, Ana Kudsi (Dover Foxcroft, Maine) took first place in the 1,000 freestyle event with a time of 12:54.90 and also finished in second in the 500 yard freestyle, posting a time of 6:21.0. Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.) also had a strong meet for the Pride with a pair of second place finishes in the 50 yard breastroke (35.15) and the 100 yard breaststroke (1:17.35).

For the men, Nick Yerzyk (West Hills, Calif.) grabbed a first place finish in the 50 yard backstroke (28.10), while Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) had a pair of first place finishes in the 100 yard freestyle (51.23) and set a new Regis record in the 100 yard individual medley (1:00.18). Djordje Mandic (Portland, Maine) was a quadruple winner in the medley relay, 50 yard freestyle (22.86), 100 yard backstroke (58.97) and 200 yard freestyle relay.

The Pride returns to action on November 12th when Regis travels to Gordon College to take on the Fighting Scots in a meet scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
