RAMS BEST PRIDE WITH 4-1 WIN

SOMERVILLE, Mass.Nick Tavares (Bellingham, Mass.) scored the lone goal for Regis College as the Pride dropped a 4-1 decision to Suffolk University on Sunday afternoon in Somerville, Mass. The Pride drop to 0-2 in the season, while Suffolk improves to 2-0 in 2012 with the win.

Suffolk senior Ben Rollins (Lee, N.H.) netted a pair of goals and added an assist in the win for Suffolk. Rollins netted the first goal of the game 26 minutes into the contest as he and sophomore Djibril Niang (Dakar, Senegal) broke off on a two-on-one. Rollins put home Suffolk's first goal of the season.

Regis evened the game two minutes later as Tavares put home a header that started off of a corner kick from sophomore Ricardo Arguesta (Los Angeles, Calif.).

Suffolk would then score three unanswered goals to cap their first victory of the season.

Niang scored the eventual game-winner with just twenty-three seconds remaining in the first half as he took a feed from freshman Alberto Benhamu (Caracas, Venezuela).

After a slow start to the second half the Rams got an offensive surge late in final eleven minutes of the contest. Rollins tallied his second goal of the game in the 79th minute as he put home a header in front of the goal off of a feed from junior Jeff Williams (Geneva, Ill.), and Benhamu would seal the victory with his first career collegiate goal with five minutes remaining.

Freshman Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) earned his first collegiate victory making three saves in goal.

Junior Stefan Todorovic (Los Angeles, Calif.) was busy in goal for the Pride as he stopped eight shots.

Regis College will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon as they host Fisher College at 4:30 p.m.

Suffolk will travel to UMass-Boston on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Beacons in non-conference action.
