NEWTON, Mass. – The Regis (Mass.) men's lacrosse scored a season-low three goals for the second straight game in losing 16-3 to Lasell in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play Saturday at Grellier Field.

Brian Wagner (Melrose, Mass.) led the visitors with two of the Pride's three goals.

Juniors Ryan Madden (Hingham, Mass.) and James Torosian (Lynn, Mass.) and freshman Andrew Fidalgo (Wilbraham, Mass.) all found the back of the net three times as Lasell picked up its fourth win of the season (4-6 overall, 4-1 in the GNAC). GNAC newcomer Regis College drops to 3-9 overall and 1-5 in conference play. 

Senior Austin Tomasetti (Elmsford, N.Y.) facilitated the Lasers offense, finishing the day with seven points, including six assists. Fidalgo also collected three assists, and juniors Austin Shindoll (Denver, Colo.) and Mike Susi (Gorham, Maine) scored two goals apiece.

Sophomore Ben Werner (Boxford, Mass.) went a career-best 16-of-21 from the faceoff-x and scooped up a game-high 12 ground balls as the Lasers won the ground ball battle, 41-14.

Lasell scored the only three goals in the first quarter, as Tomasetti put the Lasers on the board just four minutes into the game and Fidalgo tallied two of his three in the first stanza. Madden and Shindoll opened the second the second quarter for the Lasers before Regis broke into the scoring midway through the frame as Wagner scored the first of his two to make it 5-1. 

The Lasers would add two more before the break from Shindoll and Madden before Regis freshman Brent Young (Feeding Hills, Mass.) cut the Laser lead 7-2 just before halftime. 

The Lasers continued their offensive dominance in the third quarter, scoring seven straight goals to jump out to a 14-2 lead. Junior Liam Gillis (Tewksbury, Mass.) and sophomore Brendan Johnson (Plymouth, Mass.) would also find the scoring column in the second half.

Lasell saw quality performances from its goaltenders, sophomore Ryan Janovic (East Lyme, Conn.) and junior Andrew Modugno (Medford, Mass.), who split time in net. Janovic picked up his fourth win of the season, making three saves in 38:34 of work, while Modugno sealed the victory with six saves on seven shots. Freshman JJ LaRose (Litchfield, N.H.) was solid in the Pride goal with 14 saves. 

The Lasers have a quick turnaround, traveling to non-conference foe Wentworth Institute of Technology on Monday, April 16, at 1:00 p.m. Regis heads to Mount Ida College on Wednesday, April 18, for a GNAC match-up at 6:00 p.m.
