PRIDE PAW LIONS TO TAKE FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
Weston,Mass.—The Regis College men’s lacrosse team defeated Emerson College Saturday (Mar. 19) by the score of 15-8. The Pride moves to 1-0 on the season, while the visiting Lions move to 0-2.

Weston,Mass.—The Regis College men's lacrosse team defeated Emerson College Saturday (Mar. 19) by the score of 15-8. The Pride move to 1-0 on the season, while the visiting Lions fall to 0-2.
The Pride opened up the first quarter with a 5-2 lead over the
Lions. The Lions battled back in the second quarter to make the
score 8-7 in Regis' favor by halftime. The Pride controlled the
lead for the whole game. The closest the Lions came was late
in the second quarter when they scored, to trail by
one.
This was the last time the Lions would come close to the lead
as the Pride rattled off six unanswered goals in the third
quarter. The Lions were able to find the net late in the
fourth quarter. This late tally made the final score 15-8 in favor
of the Pride.
The Pride's offense was led by Billy Stewart (West
Roxbury, Mass./Catholic Memorial) and John Basbas
(Framingham, Mass./Framingham). Stewart and Basbas each tallied
four goals. Brad Hastings (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) was the
Pride's set-up man for the day posting five assists. Hasting
chipped in with three goals on offense.
The Pride's defense was led by Brendan Crane (Billerica,
Mass./Arlington Catholic) and Tyler Beyor
(Carthage, N.Y./Carthage). Crane posted eight saves in the first
half of play while Beyor tallied seven saves in the second
half.
The Lions offense was led by Josh Anderson (Underhill Center,
VT/Mount Mansfield) who tallied five goals and one assist.
Max Smith (Gillette, NJ/Watchung Heights Regional) helped out the
Lions offense by scoring one goal and tallying one assist.
The Lions defense was led by Donnie Welch (Mooresville, NC/Lake
Norman) who had 12 saves in the game.
The Pride's next match-up is Wednesday (Mar. 23) against
Daniel Webster College.
The Lions next contest is Tuesday (Mar. 22) against Anna Maria
College.
