MILTON, Mass. – Regis College quickly erased any memory of the previous game's last-second defeat, taking the lead in the first half and improving on it after halftime to defeat Curry College, 85-65, Tuesday evening in a non-conference men's collegiate basketball game at Katz Gymnasium.

The two teams traded baskets for the first eight minutes of the game before Regis raced ahead thanks to 10 straight points from Afonja. Curry responded with seven unanswered points, the first five from Jared Thorpe-Johnson, to close to within four at 30-26, but Trinidad scored five straight points to start the Pride on an 14-5 scoring run that extended Regis's lead to 44-31 at halftime.

Curry (0-2) closed to within nine at 50-41 four minutes into the second half after two free throws by Kieran Carroll, but the Pride were able to pull away thanks to a 19-6 scoring run. Regis shot 50.8 percent (32-of-63) from the field, including 6-of-13 from behind the three-point line, and 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from the free throw line.
