WINTHROP, Mass. - Senior Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) was selected First Team All-Conference and junior Ademola Afonja (Staten Island, N.Y.) to the Second Team as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced its men's and women's basketball yearly honors on Monday morning.

Stone burst onto the GNAC scene in Regis' first year a full conference member, as the six-time GNAC Corvias and one-time New England Women's Basketball Association Player of the Week was third in the league in scoring (19.7), second in rebounding (12.8) and first in field-goal percentage (.636). She helped lead the Pride to the No. 4 seed in the GNAC Tournament in their first year out of the NECC. Stone will graduate this spring as the Pride's all-time leader in points and blocks.

Afonja was a key piece to both the Regis offense and defense this season, and served as the Pride's leading scorer (13.3) and rebounder (7.8) on the season. Afonja's biggest performance of the season came in a 98-71 win over Mount Ida on January 20, when the junior scored a season-high 25 points on 10-for-14 shooting with 10 rebounds. Afonja finished the season with five double-doubles.

Junior Shawn Wedderburn (Bronx, N.Y.) and freshman Nikki Bitinaitis (Cromwell, Conn.) also received recognition on Monday, as the two represented the Pride on the GNAC Men's and Women's All-Sportsmanship Teams.
