REGIS LOSES CONFERENCE CONTEST TO BAY PATH

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team put 14 shots on net, but none could find the cage as Bay Path University eked out a 1-0 shutout victory over the Pride on Saturday evening in New England Collegiate Conference action. With the loss, the Pride fall to 5-8, 3-3 NECC and with the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-4, 3-1 NECC.

The Crimson and Gold outshot Bay Path 15-3 in the contest while also holding a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners. Yvonne Abate (Easton, Mass.) attempted eight shots during the contest, a game-high with no other members of the Pride attempting more than one.

The duel was a scoreless tie going into the 30th minute with Bay Path finally breaking through. Junior forward Jennifer Dawson (Buckland, Mass.) tallied her first goal of the season after receiving the rock from teammate Elizabeth Deane (Agawam, Mass.).

The Pride tried to rally but couldn't knock a shot past Wildcat goaltender Anna Meyer (Millbrook, N.Y.) who was superb in the contest stopping 14 shots. Raegan Heck (Phillipston, Mass.) made two saves for Regis during the loss.

The Pride return to NECC action on Wednesday, October 14th as they welcome NECC foe Daniel Webster to Weston for a 7:30 p.m. contest with the Eagles.
