MCAULEY NETS FOUR AS PRIDE CRUISE PAST WILDCATS

PROVIDENCE, R.I.Victoria McAuley (Latham, N.Y.) scored her first career goal and followed that up with three more in the game as the Regis College field hockey team defeated Johnson & Wales University, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Regis got on the board first when McAuley put in a pass from senior Stacy Burns (Waltham, Mass.) just 10:37 into the game. The visiting Pride extended their lead to 2-0 on an unassisted tally by Burns at the 32:07 mark, and Regis capped off the scoring for the first half at the 33:33 mark when McAuley put in a shot of her own to make the score 3-0 heading into halftime.

McAuley recorded her third goal the day just 1:31 in the second half, giving Regis the 4-0 advantage. McAuley added her fourth score of the contest midway through the second stanza as Regis cruised to the 5-0 victory.

Junior Jaclyn Lyons (Hillsborough, N.J.) made five saves for Johnson & Wales while sophomore Raegan Heck (Phillipson, Mass.) made six stops in the shutout for Regis.

The Pride return to action on Wednesday night when Regis hosts former CCC foe Gordon College in a 6:00 p.m. game.
