EAGLES BATTLE TO UPSET REGIS COLLEGE IN ITS SEASON OPENER

WESTON, Mass.—Daniel Webster College (1-0) opened the first half with four goals in its season opener 4-1 defeat of Regis College. Regis College (1-5, 0-1 TCCC) managed just three shots on goal in the first half, all came off of penalty corners. Natalie Bates had a first-half high of seven shots, six being on goal against Regis' Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass./Oakmont Regional). Mitchell had seven saves at the end of the first period, and finished with 14 saves total.

Stacy Burns and Molly Texiera had two shots on goal each against Amy Prince. Meghan Robohm contributed one shot on goal for Regis College. Samantha Bark, Courtney Brennan, and Bates each scored in the first half.

Daniel Webster had a total of 12 shots in the first period to Regis' six. Bates not only scored a goal, but also assisted on teammate Sierra Ackerman's score 10-minutes into the game.

Chelsea Morrison's shot to the upper right corner of the Eagles net gave the Pride its first score of the game. Morrison's score was one of nine shots on goal for the Pride. Daniel Webster finished with 23 total shots, 19 on goal, four goals, and one assists.

The Pride will host Nichols College (Sept. 18), a The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent. The Bison finished 2009 with an 18-4 overall record. Daniel Webster College will play Lasell on September 18.
