MITCHELL HAS 22 SAVES IN SEASON OPENER

WESTON, Mass.—Marianna Brown (Newton, N.H.) had two goals in Simmons (1-0) 3-0 victory Monday night over nearby Regis College (0-1). TJ Cowin (Newry, Maine) tallied the first goal of the game at the 7:26 mark.

All three of the Shark's goals were assisted. Brigid Rushe (Belmont, Mass.) aided in Cowin's score, while Katelyn Tighe (Easton, Mass.) contributed on the other two scores. Rushe and Brown each had three shots, and scoring on at least two shots on goal. Cowin and Tighe chimed in with five and six shots respectively.

Zoie Kaley (Manchester, Maine) registered a team-high seven shots, with five marked for the goal. As a team Simmons had a total of 33 shots. Christine O'Toole (Wareham, Mass./Wareham) registered Regis' only shot.

Regis keeper Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass./Oakmont Regional) had 22 saves for the Pride. Victoria Pappas (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) and Meghan Robohm (North Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames) had two and one defensive saves, respectively.

The Sharks will host Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sept. 9), before returning to the road to face Mount Holyoke (Sept. 11). Regis College will host Elms (Sept. 8), and travel to Western New England (Sept. 11) to open its first conference match of the season.
