AMCATS CLAW PAST PRIDE TO 7-0 VICTORY

Weston, Mass.-Anna Maria's Angela Giuffrida (Leicester, Mass.) scored the first goal of the match in less than 30 seconds. The AMCats posted five goals in the first period. Anna Maria went on to defeat Regis College 7-0 Saturday.

Marybeth McClune (Worcester, Mass.) scored the AMCats second goal 2:55 into the game. She scored her second goal within eight-minutes of her first score. Giuffrida would assist on Anna Maria's second score.

Anna Maria held Regis College from scoring through the first 20-minutes of the match. Sarah Boyda (Oxford, Mass.) scored on a penalty stroke at 11:15.

Maria Pino (Revere, Mass.) managed two shots on goal for Regis, but Emily Nugent (Worcester, Mass.) saved both attempts.

The AMCat offense posted five goals against Pride keeper Sara Ankreund (Groton, Mass.). Ankreund finished with just 16 saves.

Giuffrida etched her second score as the teams returned from intermission. Anna Maria posted two more scores in the second period, the second coming from McClune.

Anna Maria improves to 1-5, 2-9 TCCC. Regis College falls to 0-8, 0-4 TCCC.
